American Fashion from 1800 to Early 1900 at the MET.

via NYMag: The main reason guests went to the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute ball last night was not to see and be seen and find out if they were important or intimidating enough to escape with a train unscathed. They went to see the Costume Institute's new exhibit on American fashion from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The pieces now on display at the Met were pulled from the Brooklyn Museum's collection; each museum is running an exhibit simultaneously. New York fashion director Harriet Mays Powell stopped by both museums for a preview. Check out some of the dresses in the video.
