WE HAVE A WINNER!
And the WINNER IS...
JENN LAM!!!
I would love this little black dress, it is a staple in anyone's wardrobe! I would wear this beauty with a single diamond drop so i don't take away from the dress. I would wear some simple silver bangles on my arm and nude pumps. My hair would be in loosely tousled waves and i would have a dramatic silvery smokey eye with nude glossed lips. To add a touch of color i might use a deep plum blush on my higher cheekbones lightly. It would be such a simple but sophisticated look. ~Jenn Lam

2010 BET Awards: The Good & The Blah.
I have to admit, the 2010 BET Awards were some of their best work yet. I know. Shocking. But the show was actually pretty good for the most part. Some of the most notable performances for me was Monica singing her song "Everything To Me" which has seriously grown on me because I didn't even like the song at first. And Monica's vocals get stronger everytime I hear her sing. She's definitely a talent. Even if her fashion sense is a little out there. Click READ MORE HERE for more pics and commentary below:
When Monica brought out Deniece Williams, I have to admit, I kinda lost it! Ok BET. I see you. They both sang Deniece's hit "Silly" and even though Deniece was a little shaky, it was still awesome to see her performing. Other notable performances was Usher, Eminem rocked his set, Chris Brown's tribute to Michael Jackson, El DeBarge taking the stage (What?!) the Prince lifetime achievement tribute, and I was kinda shocked that I liked the Diddy Dirty Money set. But it was pretty cool IMO.
It was fabulous to see Nia Long and Larenz Tate together again (Love Jones) after all these years. Their chemistry is still like... WHOA.
What wasn't I feeling? Nicki Minaj and her lip synching, Drake, Keisha Cole's blonde mullet wig (like the song, hated that hair) and Trey Songz even though I thought it was cute that he brought his mom. And Kanye... and it's not that I wasn't feeling Kanye (he opened the show) but so much other stuff happened after his set, I just kinda forgot that he even made an appearance. That's about all I have on this awards show. And like I said, overall it was pretty entertaining this year, I really enjoyed myself watching. And I know I'm usually down on Debra Lee, and hopefully I'm not speaking too soon, but I think she and the BET network may finally be starting to hit their stride.
2010 BET Awards: Chris Brown's Controversial MJ Tribute...
Chris Brown did a tribute to Michael Jackson on the one year anniversary of his death during the 2010 BET Awards, and I must say, dude did a good job IMHO. Jermaine Jackson introduced him as "the person who could do this tribute who hasn't done it yet" Click READ MORE HERE for more pics, VIDEO of Chris Brown's MJ tribute and my 2 cents below:

The controversy came when Chris got emotional while attempting to perform "Man in the Mirror" he started crying and could barely get through the song. I've been on a couple message boards since the awards and people are split. Watch the vid below:
And here's my two cents. Unless you are not of this world and here visiting from another universe, then you already know all about Chris Brown's crime. No need to go into it again other than to say it was a horrendous occurrence, it was violent and shameful and it should have never happened. That being said, how long do you hold something like this over someone's head? Is Chris Brown never to be forgiven for what he did? How long is long enough to hold someone in contempt of a crime such as the one Chris Brown committed? Do people not deserve a 2nd chance to prove themselves and make things right? I realize it's the popular thing to be all incredulous and hate on Chris Brown into infinity. And even though I initially got upset about all the shade people were throwing on Chris behind this performance, I can't speak for anyone else, so I won't. But me, myself? I'm over it. Chris said that he knows he let his fans down in the past, and he vowed not to ever do it again, and as far as I'm concerned, I'm taking him at his word. He has a 2nd chance, at least he does with me (as a fan), to prove he's a stand up dude.

Prince accepted the Lifetime Acheivment Award onstage during the 2010 BET Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on June 27, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. Click READ MORE HERE for more pics and video of the Prince tribute.
Janelle Monae performed "Let's Go Crazy"
Patti performed "Purple Rain"
Esperanza Spalding paid tribute to Prince...
Alicia Keys performed "Adore" and made folks have a near nervous breakdown watching her (pregnant self) crawl onto the top of that piano to sing...
2010 BET Awards: El DeBarge is Poised For a Comeback..
Eldra Patrick DeBarge took the stage during the 2010 BET Awards at the Shrine Auditorium on June 27, 2010 in Los Angeles, California. He sang "Time Will Reveal" at the piano during his performance. Love that song. Definitely looking for him to start making a comeback.

typography trays: in process
For the first time ever I am making typography trays for a store (that same one in L.A.). I’ve only made a few of them in the past, four or five in total, I think. This is because they are a pain to make: I practically have to stand on my head, hold my breath, and say many incantations. My acrobatics seem to be working, and I’m super excited to have twenty (yes twenty) of them ready to ship out in a few weeks. Above the trays are pictured in their ”bone dry” stage, awaiting to be bisque fired.

Celebs donning Stella McCartney's Chain Tote
Stella's chain detail Totes look great whether it is the foldover or shopper one. The bag is practical and stylish. The bag has no-leather and rates high on quality. Love the fact that it is luxury non-leather bag.
Who wears the bag best?
Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez
.
Carrie Underwood
Rihanna
.
Leona Lewis
Among the five ladies, Kim Kardashian and Leona Lewis cary Stella's chain detail tote the best. Love Kim's jacket, wish she would have chosen something nicer on her feet rather than those flip-flops. But she does look good, and the bag complements her ensemble very well. Leona Lewis is looking fab in her black and white ensemble, combined with the chain tote.
Girls luxury does not necessarily means leather (killing animals). Luxury means great quality, excellent designs, good workmanship and a established brand. Stella's accessories matches all the four, and there's no reason why one would not pay for her excellent designs.
Stella's bags are soft and last long, and this chain bag is certainly the one to crave for!!!!!

on press
Karen’s card is so bright, it pops out in the midst of all this machinery.
We spent a bit of time getting the color saturated (a juicy raspberry pink), and the ink coverage as even as possible on an uncoated paper stock.
I love press proofs, with all the bleed and crop and registration marks. A good way to start out the day.
Michael Jackson Gone Too Soon...
Michael Jackson has been gone a year today (June 25th). Still doesn't seem real at times. Just wanted to pay tribute to him with the video below of him performing in Bucharest Romania. The video shows just how much his fans loved him across the world. Michael works this crowd into a FRENZY for like 2 minutes straight by just standing there. It's really something to watch.

Me, Lanvin & 23
The 2011 resort collection does not disappoing, the signiture feminine yet simple shapes + signiture jewellery works wonders, while I am also loving the vibrant colours...
There is another reason why I am blogging about Lanvin today, I have just turned 23 today and treated myself to a stunning green Amelia bag (with 30% off from the Lanvin sales!) as a birthday present. I promise to show you the bag soon! I just can't bring myself to use it before I get some leather protecting cream from Mulberry...
