WATCH: The Met Gala Red Carpet...

During the Met Gala red carpet, two names continued to ring out: Alexander McQueen and Osama Bin Laden. The former, obviously, is the focus of this year's Costume Institute Gala tribute. The latter was unavoidable, as news of his death was barely 24 hours old. NYMagazine asked a few celebs about their memories of the late designer Alexander McQueen. 2011 Oscars: Hilary Swank in Gucci Couture...

Hilary Swank told Ryan Seacrest that it was eleven years ago that she won the Oscar for "Boys Don't Cry" WOW. I didn't realize that it was that long ago. That's around the time when she popped up on lots of people's radars. She looks great in this Gucci couture gown, but nothing tops that navy, backless Guy Laroche gown she wore a few years ago. Now that dress was the HOTNESS.

2011 Oscars: Gwyneth Paltrow in Metallic Calvin Klein

I like this Calvin Klein dress on Gwyneth Paltrow, but I think I would like it more if she had hips. I  just think the dress would look nicer with a few more curves. But just a few, lol.

Wow Celine. Simple and chic. And didn't she have twins like 2 seconds ago? Her body is insane. Love this look.

Halle Berry is wearing a frothy, nude toned Marchesa gown and I love the look on her. She's someone who can make a frou-frou dress still look sexy. She just has it like that. Fab.

Scarlett Johansson wore this purple (eggplant?) lace one of a kind lace gown by Dolce & Gabbana and it's just "meh" for me. But I'm loving her eye makeup. Weird.

I've lost count on the number of posts I've done on how good Jennifer Hudson looks. Here she's wearing a bold tangerine Versace gown and she's looking gorgeous in it. I'm telling you she's making me wanna run around the block and burn some calories right now. Well... maybe tomorrow.

2011 Oscars: Michelle Williams in CHANEL...

LOVE Michelle Williams (Blue Valentine) in this pale CHANEL gown. Now I know I said that Mila Kunis looks better to me in bolder colors, but I think it's the opposite for Michelle. She can pull off the lighter tones better than most. It fits her. Love the simplicity of this dress.

2011 Oscars: Anne Hathaway in Vintage Valentino.

Anne is stunning in this fire red vintage Valentino gown on the red carpet with the designer of her dress, Valentino himself. Love the red dress, love the red lips, love the soft hair. Fabulous.

2011 Oscars: Mila Kunis in Elie Saab

Mila Kunis (Black Swan) is a favorite of mine, but I don't know if I like this lavender Elie Saab on her. I think she looks better in bolder colors. But she looks nice nonetheless.

2011 Oscars: Hailee Steinfeld in a Custom Marchesa...

It's always refreshing for young women to dress age appropriate. Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) is wearing a custom made Marchesa gown that she helped to design. I think she looks heavenly. Fabulous.

2011 Oscars: Jennifer Lawrence in Calvin Klein...

Simple. Beautiful. Sleek. Unfussy. Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) in Calvin Klein. Some may try to do "Baywatch" jokes about this gown, but I'm loving it. Clean lines always win it for me. Well played Jennifer Lawrence. Well played.

2011 Golden Globes Red Carpet Fashion: LOVED IT! :)

Olivia Wilde was a vision in this chocolate confectionary Marchesa gown. Olivia stood out on the Golden Globes red carpet in this beautiful cocoa color and I love that she chose to wear minimal jewelry. This dress was a sugary fairy tale dream. I loved it.

Elizabeth Moss was really pretty in this deep green Donna Karan gown. This emerald green was a common theme throughout the night on the Golden Globes Red Carpet and I for one was a fan of the color.

Emma Stone wore this basic peach Calvin Klein gown and I flipped for it. Some may say, "but there's nothing to this dress" but let me tell you, clean lines usually win me over every time, and Calvin Klein is one designer who has the art of clean lines mastered.

More green! Loved this Vera Wang dress on Mila Kunis, the back of the dress was even more fabulous, sorry I don't have a pic :(

Love Sophia Vergara in this Red Vera Wang. It fit her beautifully and bottomline is, I'm just a Sophia Vergara fan girl.

Another beautiful green gown on Catherine Zeta Jones. Hers is by Monique Lhuillier and I thought it was stunning on her.

This pink dress draped ever so nicely on Claire Danes, more simple chic by Calvin Klein. Basic done to perfection. Loved it. :)

2011 Golden Globes Red Carpet Fashion: DIDN'T LOVE IT :(

People were applauding Helena Bonham Carter's boldness and individuality (check out her different colored shoes!) but this look is just a jumbled mess to me. Helena is no stranger to quirky fashion, she usually gravitates towards the eccentric. I mean hello! She picked Tim Burton as a life partner. Nuff said. Anyhoo, I think she looks nicer when she pulls it back and refines it a little like she did here.

Scarlett Johansson 

Scarlett looked uncomfortable in this Elie Saab dress, and I have to say it wasn't one of my favorites on her either. Maybe if her hair and makeup were different, and she was her usual confident self it would have helped, but the whole vibe just made me go... meh.

Nicole Kidman

Vanilla. Bland. Milk toast. Snoooooooze fest. Did I leave anything out? I'm telling you, a Prada dress never looked so boring.

I'm gonna go to bat for Julianne Moore here in this hot pink Lanvin gown. I'm going to bat for her because I think it's unfortunate that her glam squad let her onto the red carpet looking a wrinkled mess. Shame on them for not steaming this dress. 

 Leighton Meester in Burberry. This dress just looks like oatmeal to me. And I usually like oatmeal. I'm just not feeling this dress. Sorry.

Lots of people liked January Jones in this bold red Versace gown but I didn't. It's too over the top like she's trying too hard to be sexy when she really doesn't have to. I gave this dress a NO.

Didn't like Angelina Jolie in this Atelier Versace dress. But to be perfectly fair, I could just be biased against her. Anyhoo, NEXT.

No, no, NO Halle. Didn't like this black Nina Ricci dress on her at all. Dresses with single sheer chiffon panels just look cheap to me, no matter who the designer. Don't believe me? Check out Kristin Stewart in CHANEL. See what I mean? Not a good look. Halle's head to toe look seems like it should have been worn underneath her actual dress. Ok. Enough shade! Stay tuned for the Golden Globe dresses that I did like :)
